Startling Summer
Startling Summer
in the original Chinese
Alarm for No. 1 Hurricane was sounded
When I thought of
The rattling of yesterday night
To be not thundering in spring
The morning fog outside of the window
Was no longer urging people to add a jacket
When I discovered
I could go outdoors with even a short sleeve
However
Always unable to remember
This time last year
Whether it was the voice of frog
Or the singing of cicada
Which woke me up from my spring dream
Wind Lin
Startling Summer is from Selected Poems of Wind Lynn (The Milky Way Publishing Co., 2004).
