Biography

Born and raised in Maine, Fishouse Editor & Executive Director Matt O’Donnell graduated from Holy Cross and earned an MFA in poetry from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In July 2022, after more than twenty years at Bowdoin College, where he was editor of Bowdoin Magazine, he embarked on a new adventure as director of writing programs for Santosha at Hillholm Estate in Kingfield, Maine. O’Donnell founded From the Fishouse with Camille T. Dungy in August 2004, and they officially launched the website in April 2005. His poems have appeared in journals such as The Greensboro Review32 Poems Magazine, and Ecotone. O’Donnell, Dungy, and Jeffrey Thomson co-edited From the Fishouse: An Anthology of Poems that Sing, Rhyme, Resound, Syncopate, Alliterate, and Just Plain Sound Great (Persea Books, 2009).
