Biography

Alex Dimitrov was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1984. He is the author of two collections of poetry, Together and By Ourselves (Copper Canyon Press, 2017), and Begging for it, (Four Way Books, 2013). He is the founder of Wilde Boys, a queer poetry salon that has hosted critics and poets such as Daniel Mendelsohn and John Ashbery in New York City. His poems have appeared in the Yale Review, Kenyon Review, Boston Review, Tin House, New York Quarterly, and Best New Poets 2009, among others. Dimitrov works at the Academy of American Poets and frequently writes for Poets & Writers magazine. He received a BA in English and Film Studies from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and an MFA in poetry from Sarah Lawrence College. He lives in Manhattan.
