Biography

Kevin A. González holds MFA degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (in poetry) and from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop (in fiction). His first book of poems, Cultural Studies, was published by Carnegie Mellon University Press in 2009 and was a finalist for the 2010 Paterson Poetry Prize. His stories have appeared in Playboy, Virginia Quarterly Review, and Narrative Magazine, among others, and have been anthologized in Best American Nonrequired Reading 2007, Best New American Voices 2007, Best New American Voices 2009, and Keeping the Wolves at Bay: Stories by Emerging American Writers. He co-edited and anthology of American poetry titled The New Census (Rescue Press, 2013), and he serves as editor of jubilatHe lives in Pittsburgh, where he is an assistant professor at Carnegie Mellon University.
