Biography

Lucy Anderton holds a MFA in poetry from Warren Wilson College and a BA in Jazz Composition from Berklee College of Music. Since 2007 she has been rebuilding a 500-year-old ruinous brothel in the south of France, where she spent two years as the writer-in-residence for the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. She is the author of the chapbooks tender grass (Chicago Poetry Press, 2006), and the flung you (New Michigan Press, 2012). Her poems have appeared in journals including Barrow Street, The Iowa Review, AGNI Online, Crazyhorse, Verse Daily, American Letters and Commentary, Drunken Boat, and DIAGRAM. She plays the piano, is learning to play the cello, is weary of dust in her life, and feels that the chamber pot is an under-appreciated piece of furniture.
