Biography

Silvina López Medin was born in Buenos Aires in 1976. She is the author of three books of poetry: “La noche de los bueyes” (Madrid, Visor, 1999), which was awarded the First Prize for Poetry Initiation by the Argentine Culture Department and the International Young Poetry Prize by the Loewe Foundation, “Esa sal en la lengua para decir manglar” (Preface by Jorge Aulicino, Buenos Aires, Ediciones del Dock, 2014), and “62 brazadas” (Buenos Aires, Zindo & Gafuri, 2015). Her theatre play “Exactamente bajo el sol” (opened at Teatro del Pueblo, 2008) was granted the Plays Third Prize by the Argentine Institute of Theatre and participated in Buenos Aires International Festival. She translated into Spanish, with poet Mirta Rosenberg, Anne Carson’s “Eros the Bittersweet” (Buenos Aires, Fiordo Editorial, 2015).

 


 

Silvina López Medin nació en Buenos Aires en 1976. Publicó los libros de poemas “La noche de los bueyes” (Madrid, Visor, 1999), Primer Premio Iniciación de Poesía de la Secretaría de Cultura de la Nación y Premio Internacional de Poesía a la Creación Joven de la Fundación Loewe, “Esa sal en la lengua para decir manglar” (Prólogo de Jorge Aulicino. Buenos Aires, Ediciones del Dock, 2014), y “62 brazadas” (Buenos Aires, Zindo & Gafuri, 2015). Su obra de teatro “Exactamente bajo el sol” (estrenada en el Teatro del Pueblo, 2008) recibió el Tercer Premio de Obras de Teatro del Instituto Nacional del Teatro y participó del Festival Internacional de Buenos Aires. Tradujo al español, junto con la poeta Mirta Rosenberg, el libro “Eros the Bittersweet” de Anne Carson (Buenos Aires, Fiordo Editorial, 2015).
