Born and raised in Maine, Fishouse Editor & Executive Director Matt O’Donnell graduated from Holy Cross and earned an MFA in poetry from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He is editor of Bowdoin Magazine at Bowdoin College. A long time professional ski instructor, he also directs a telemark ski program for the Bowdoin College Outing Club. O’Donnell founded From the Fishouse with Camille T. Dungy in August 2004, and they officially launched the website in April 2005. His poems have appeared in journals such as The Greensboro Review, 32 Poems Magazine, and Ecotone. O’Donnell, Dungy, and Jeffrey Thomson co-edited From the Fishouse: An Anthology of Poems that Sing, Rhyme, Resound, Syncopate, Alliterate, and Just Plain Sound Great (Persea Books, 2009).
