Biography

Louisa A. Igloria is a tenured professor at Old Dominion University, where she directs the MFA Creative Writing Program. Louisa is the author of Ode to the Heart Smaller Than a Pencil Eraser, winner of the May Swensen Poetry Prize (Utah State University Press, 2014); Night Willow (Phoenicia Press, Montreal, 2014); Juan Luna’s Revolver, winner of the 2009 Ernest Sandeen Prize in Poetry (University of Notre Dame Press, 2010); Trill & Mordent (WordTech Editions, 2005); and eight other books. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in numerous anthologies and journals including Poetry, Crab Orchard Review, The Missouri Review, Indiana Review, Narrative Magazine, Poetry East, Rattle, Sweet, garrtsiluni, poemeleon, Smartish Pace, Natural Bridge, The North American Review, and Bellingham Review, among others. Originally from Baguio City, she now lives in Norfolk, Virginia, with most of her family.
