Biography

Roger Bonair-Agard is a native of Trinidad and Tobago, a Cave Canem fellow and co-founder of the louderARTS project. Roger is a two-time National Poetry Slam Champion and Nuyorican Poets’ Cafe Fresh Poet of the Year 1998. He is the author of three collections of poems, Tarnish and Masquerade (Cypher Books, 2007); Gully (Cypher Books/Peepal Tree Press, 2010); and Bury My Clothes (Haymarket Books, 2013), which was a Finalist for the 2013 National Book Award for Poetry. Roger performs and teaches throughout the world. He keeps his belongings in Brooklyn.
