Suzanne Cleary

Biography

Suzanne Cleary’s Beauty Mark was published by BkMk Press in 2013, as winner of the John Ciardi Prize for Poetry. Her previous poetry books are Trick Pear (2007) and Keeping Time (2002), both published by Carnegie Mellon University Press. Winner of a Pushcart Prize, her poems appear in journals including Georgia Review, New Ohio Review, The Atlantic, Poetry International, and Poetry London, and in anthologies including Best American Poetry, Don’t Leave Hungry: Fifty Years of Southern Poetry Review, and From the Fishouse. Her travels include reading at the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival, reading/teaching at the Frost Place Poetry Festival, and residencies at Yaddo, the Byrdcliffe Art Colony, and the MacDowell Colony. Professor of English at the State University of New York at Rockland, she is also core faculty for the low-residency MFA in Creative Writing Program of Converse College.
